There were a couple free hours before arriving home at 5pm, to ensure that the road repair machinery was parked and not busy working on the roads. Decided to stop at La Purisima Mission, reputed to have wonderful flora. That turned out to be true, and a longer return trip would be a good thing.

After the dearth of butterflies this summer of excessive rain, it was heartening to see many butterflies in the area.
